Legal Issues in Marin Cities and Towns
Join us in hearing from a panel of Marin leaders discuss the legal issues each are confronting in their jurisdictions and how they are resolving them. There will be a focused discussion on homeless encampments (navigating the Martin v City of Boise ruling); an update on investigation from DOJ on allegations of segregation in the Sausalito education system and what is to come in preparing for the impact of climate change (vegetation maintenance, water conservation and more).

Moderating the program will be Leila Mongan, Town Council Member of Corte Madera.

Legal Aid of Marin and MCBA Honor Pro Bono Volunteers

Every year, Legal Aid of Marin and MCBA honor the many volunteers who provide pro bono services “to create a more just and equitable Marin Community.” This year’s event started with a wonderful video montage of volunteers and Legal Aid staff over the years. Legal Aid of Marin Board President Jessica Karner served as the master of ceremonies for the evening and reminded us that this year’s ceremony covers two years, since last year’s was a casualty of the brand-new shelter-in-place orders.  More >
