Judge Sheila Shah Lichtblau was administered the Oath of her office on March 8, 2017. Marin County Supervisor Kate Sears served as Master of Ceremonies at the well-attended event at the Marin Center Showcase Theater, San Rafael.

Joining Judge Shah Lichtblau in celebration were her husband, David, energetic sons Adam and Evan, as well as her father Manesh Shah. The proud family is a testament to the deep roots the Judge has planted in the County.

Introduced by MCBA President Dorothy Chou Proudfoot, the Marin County Bench was present to witness the occasion. James Nielsen, Esq. of Nielsen, Haley & Abbott detailed Judge Lichtblau's impressive work in the public interest, private sector, and government legal arenas. The Judge's cousin, Shefali Shah gave a heartfelt speech about the Shah family's migration to our community from India and Puerto Rico. She also described the special relationship she shares with Sheila.

The atmosphere of the event was festive reflecting the diversity Judge Lichtblau brings to the bench. Refreshments featured cuisine from around the globe. Who knew Puerto Rican and Indian food were such a great match!

Judge Lichtblau's remarks made it clear she will bring her unique prospective to the bench and that Marin County will be well served.
