Success through Community Engagement


Attend a program to learn more about how restorative justice can help build stronger communities. Community members will learn positive solutions for keeping kids on the right track and out of the school to prison pipeline.

Welcome Remarks: Nancy Johnson, Marin City Community Services District Director

Screening of two documentaries, introductions by Don Carney, YWCA Youth Court Director

  • Finding Justice: Ending the School to Prison Pipeline, the YMCA Marin County Youth Court documentary.
  • The Color of Youth Court, a documentary about equity of access to the Youth Court, made by Tamalpais High students in the Academy of Integrated Humanities and New Media (AIM) program.

Introduction to Restorative Practices, panel discussion following films
Moderator: Michal Tabb with panelists, Judge Geoffrey Howard, Marin Superior Court, Nancy Hoang, Youth Court participant, and Darrell Roary, Probation officer
30 minute Breakout Discussion Sessions with Community leaders.
