It’s official! Statewide rent control will be effective January 1, 2020. Vince DeMartini, Neusha Ghaedi and Len Rifkind will discuss the new watershed rent control law affecting nearly all residential landlords and tenants throughout California, as well as the distinctions of each local just cause eviction measure in Marin County.

Check-in will begin at 11:45 AM, the Speaker will begin at 12:00 Noon.

Vincent J. DeMartini

Vince DeMartini joined the California Bar in 1976. Initially with a practice that assisted businesses with client disputes. Shortly thereafter Vince expanded his practice into the area of real estate. He is now one of Marin court's pre-eminent legal authorities in rental real estate, property management and landlord disputes with tenants. Vince advises clients daily about protecting their real estate investments and regularly represents businesses in disputes and litigation.

Vince is an active member of Marin County Bar Association and is a member of the real estate section of the California Bar Association. He served as a pro tem judge for the local courts for over 15 years and has given innumerable talks to both attorneys and investors about matters within his area of expertise.

Len Rifkind was born and raised in Marin County. He has represented thousands of clients over the past 30 years in real estate litigation and transactional matters. In addition, he lectures throughout the state on the subjects of easement, boundary and neighbor disputes, as well as locally on the topics of broker disputes, disclosure issues, and landlord-tenant law. Len has a committed record of community service, having served as Mayor of the City of Larkspur, president of the Marin County Bar Association, president of the Board of Directors of Congregation Rodef Shalom, and coach of a local high school mock trial team. Outside of the office, he is an avid outdoor adventure enthusiast. Lastly, Len has been married for 30 years with two grown children and three grandchildren.
