Attorney's Fees and Fee Shifting in Probate Proceedings

Local courts appear to have an increased willingness to award attorney’s fees to a prevailing party in probate proceedings. The presenters will examine this trend, as well as provide an overview of both the guidelines the courts use in awarding attorney’s fees as well as best practices for fee petition/applications.

Steve is a partner in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's Silicon Valley office. Steve's practice focuses on trust, probate and conservatorship litigation including, but not limited to:

- Will contests
- Trust contests
- Removal and surcharge actions
- Contested conservatorships
- Accounting disputes
- Financial elder abuse actions
- Reformation or modification actions
