The MCBA Probate and Estate Planning & Probate Litigation Sections invite you to attend a virtual presentation on the Changes In Medi-Cal Rules: How This Can Affect Middle-Class Clients to be held on Wednesday, July 20th from 12:00 to 1:00 PM via a Zoom Meeting. Please Note: Your video will appear in a small box on screen.
Join speaker Patricia Tobin, Certified Elder Law Attorney, as she updates us on the Medi-Cal Rule changes. As of July 1, 2022, the asset limit for unmarried aged or disabled clients increases from $2,000 to $130,000. As of January 1, 2024, there will be no asset limit for Medi-Cal applicants.
Estate Planners will need to reevaluate the use of Special Needs Trusts; Family Law Attorneys will need to consider this in “Gray Divorces” for spousal or child support of a disabled spouse or child; and Litigators will want to consider how this may affect settlements.
***For those that are not able to attend but interested in the post-meeting recording, we require that you Register for the Event. Once the presentation is over, if the recording is adequate, we will send it to those that were not able to attend. If the recording is not watchable, MCBA will refund your registration fee. MCBA does not provide CLE for viewing recordings post presentation.***
