Cross Examination Impeachment Techniques

The MCBA Barristers Sections announces their (in person) October Skills Presentation, Cross Examination Impeachment Techniques, to be held on Tuesday, October 29th at Noon. This presentation will be held in the Assembly Room at the Marin County Sheriff's Office, 1600 Los Gamos Dr. (Main Lobby A, Suite 200) , in Marinwood, San Rafael.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a short impeachment drill. Each attorney will take turns impeaching a witness using the "Three C's" of impeachment: Commit, Credit, and Confront. This tried and true impeachment technique will become a staple of your trial practice.

Connect with fellow members of the MCBA Barristers Section and learn new skills which will enhance and energize your practice. Join your charismatic Co-Chair as he shares approaches on this important skill and invites you to share your unique experiences as well.

Speaker Information

William Aspinwall

Will Aspinwall has a diverse litigation practice spanning both criminal defense and complex civil litigation. Will's law practice is underscored by a philosophy that emphasizes practical solutions to complicated legal issues. Will's commitment to the legal profession extends beyond his practice. He is an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), where he teaches trial and deposition skills, helping to shape the next generation of litigators. Will has served as a clerk for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, a deputy district attorney, and a deputy public defender. His career also includes significant roles at renowned law firms, including Severson & Werson and Pillsbury & Coleman in San Francisco.
