The January MCBA Estate Planning, Trust and Probate & Probate Litigation Sections Meeting (virtual), Prosecuting & Defending Trust Litigation, will be held virtually on Wednesday, January 22nd from 12:00 to 1:00 PM via a Zoom Meeting.

Join speakers Carmen Sinigiani and Pamela Stevens as they cover an overview of common intricacies of trust litigation. Attendees will explore litigation strategies, legal remedies, and recent case law, gaining practical knowledge essential for effectively navigating trust disputes. Ideal for general civil litigators who want to “up their game” and learn some technical tips specific to trust litigation. Time will be reserved for questions and discussions.

Once the presentation is over, if the recording is adequate, we will send it to those that were not able to attend. If the recording is distorted and can not be viewed, MCBA will refund your registration fee. MCBA does not provide CLE for viewing recordings post presentation.***

Carmen D. Sinigiani

Ms. Sinigiani’s practice focuses primarily on estate planning and estate and trust litigation. Carmen handles all aspects of trust and estate litigation including trust and will contests, trustee and fiduciary disputes, and other beneficiary disputes. Carmen's extensive estate litigation experience provides her a wealth of knowledge to counsel her estate planning clients on litigation prevention and family relationship preservation. She has also qualified as an expert, testifying on breach of fiduciary duties. She is also a Professor of Law at Empire College School of Law, teaching Wills & Trusts for the last 13 years. Ms. Sinigiani is a native Sonoma County resident and is active in the local community, serving on the Board of Analy Band Wagon, a music boosters for her local high school, and a member of the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa.

Pamela E. Stevens

Spaulding McCullough & Tansil LLP

Pamela E. Stevens, a career litigator, has spent twenty years handling complex civil matters, many of which involved potential verdicts in the millions of dollars. Pamela is comfortable handling all stages of litigation, and has taken and defended hundreds of plaintiff, witness, and expert depositions. She is qualified to handle all aspects of trial from picking a jury to closing arguments. Her strong interpersonal skills allow her to effectively communicate and manage the complex circumstances of each case, ensuring that clients are positioned to achieve the best possible outcome.

Pamela was admitted to practice in 2004, and prior to joining SMT, she was a partner with the San Francisco law firm WFBM, LLP, formerly known as Walsworth, Franklin, Bevins & McCall.

Pamela joined SMT in 2019 after living and working in San Francisco for 18 years. Since coming to SMT part of her practice has been in trust litigation and she has tried cases in San Mateo, Marin and Sonoma counties. She recently secured two favorable verdicts for her clients, one in a financial elder abuse case where her client was entitled to double damages and attorney’s fees and costs, and in another case where she successfully removed a trustee and her client was awarded attorney’s fees and costs.
