President's Message
The Power of Getting Into Good Trouble: Lessons From History
By Susan Feder
On July 17, our country laid to rest an icon of the Civil Rights Movement: Congressman John Lewis. At his funeral, numerous dignitaries, including three former U.S. Presidents, honored his lifetime of contributions to our country. Lewis served in Congress for 33 years, dedicating his life to the fight for equality and justice. And fight he did. Marin County Seeking Hearing Officers for Violations of Public Health Orders
As you are probably aware, Marin County recently enacted civil penalties for violations of county public health orders and will be actively enforcing the orders against individuals and businesses. In conjunction with the new penalties, the County is setting up an administrative hearing process for contesting citations.

The County is seeking attorneys to serve as hearing officers. While some pay may be involved, applicants should view the position as primarily a community service.

If you are interested in serving, please send a curriculum vitae to Tom Lai at tlai@marincounty.org by Friday, August 14, 2020.

For more information, please see the press release regarding the penalties.
