On Sunday, September 15, 2024, the MCBA came alive with laughter and joy at its first-ever summer picnic, hosted at McNears Beach Park. With over 36 enthusiastic attendees soaking in the perfect sunny weather and creating a vibrant display of community spirit.
Thanks to the delectable fare provided by Taquizas El Cuñado, guests indulged in a tantalizing selection of four different types of tacos, complete with all the mouthwatering fixings, crispy chips, and fresh guacamole that kept everyone coming back for seconds. To quench their thirst, attendees savored refreshing agua fresca, sodas, and water, while MCBA sweetened the day with juicy slices of watermelon and delicious cookies. The afternoon was filled with a range of exciting activities that brought families closer together.
Laughter echoed around picnic site as teams battled it out in volleyball and cornhole,
showcasing their friendly competitive spirit. MCBA also organized a series of entertaining
games, including a hilarious egg toss, where Edward Villanueva and his wife emerged victorious with their seemingly indestructible egg.
—congratulations to them!
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for attendees to unwind with the rejuvenating 15-minute massages from in-kind sponsor Daniel Lappin, BA, CMP, of Mind-Body, Somatics, Massage (DanielLappin.com). With a steady stream of visitors seeking relaxation, Daniel was kept busy throughout the afternoon, ensuring everyone left feeling refreshed and revitalized.
This successful summer picnic fostered connections and camaraderie among MCBA members. We can’t wait to see even more smiling faces next year! Be sure to mark your
calendars, as this event will become a cherished annual tradition for the MCBA community.
