Family Law Section Meeting: Court Update with Family Law Judges

It's a new year and as we continue to shelter in place with COVID-19 restrictions, there are procedures and questions that the Family Law Court will address. Please join us for an update with the Marin Family Law Judges and the Court Operations Manager.

Agenda/Topics:

• Zoom hearings/protocol – updates and/or changes. Is there anything that we (the attorneys) should be doing differently?

• Updates on COVID-19 related issues, specifically travel (weekends and upcoming school holidays & breaks) and vaccines.

• E-signatures on documents filed with the court. What is acceptable?

• Local rule MCR 6.17, which was amended last year to provide that parents can opt to receive notice of their CCRC appointment by email or email (FCS states that very few attorneys or parties seem to be aware of this option and the form).

• Updates on the clerk’s office. How long will be using the drop box for filing documents? Is there a way to track the status of the documents that have been left and are not processed? How do we get copies of documents from the court records.
