The MCBA Program Committee invites you to attend the virtual presentation, Judicial Appointment Process-What You Need to Know with Adam Hofmann on Wednesday, March 27th from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Adam Hofmann is the Deputy Judicial Appointments Secretary in the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom and past Chair of the State Bar’s Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation. He will join us for a virtual Lunch CLE to discuss the judicial-appointments process in California, from application to vetting and appointment.

***For those that are not able to attend but interested in the post-meeting recording, we require that you Register for the Event. Once the presentation has concluded, if the recording is adequate, we will send it to those that were not able to attend. MCBA does not provide CLE for viewing recordings post presentation.***

Adam W. Hofmann

Deputy Judicial Appointments Secretary, Office of California Governor Gavin Newsom

Adam Hofmann is the Deputy Judicial Appointments Secretary in the Office of Governor Gavin Newsom. He also recently served as the Chair of the State Bar’s Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluations and was a partner and co-chair of the appellate practice at the law firm Hanson Bridgett and an Appellate Specialist, certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization. In that role, he represented government agencies and private businesses in a civil appeals covering a wide range of substantive legal areas, from public finance and revenue measures and civil rights to employee benefits, labor standards, and election law. He also taught courses in land use and local government law at the University of San Francisco School of Law and coaches nationally competitive moot-court teams and UC Davis, King Hall School of Law.
